Boys Varsity Baseball team so far has had a rough preseason. They lost two games in the last inning that was supposed to be a win. Hopefully the team can bounce back and learn from it. The team has enough talent to contend with any high school team. If they play as a team and everyone does their job, they could easily win league and be a serious contender in playoffs. The team’s biggest strength is pitching. The three main pitchers are Tyler Delzell a great starter along with Bobby Romero and Cameron Doran. Their biggest weakness however is lack of experience. The BBQ this Saturday is at the Hoover Baseball Alumni game. They will be having old Hoover graduates who were players come and play the current team. It will occur at Hoover’s baseball field and starts with the home run derby at 11. After the home run derby is the Hoover Varsity playing the Alumni in a 5 inning game.
